Bula! Fiji Airways returns to Adelaide
Thursday 12 May, 2022
Fiji Airways has announced its return to Adelaide with two direct flights a week to Nadi
starting from Monday July 4.
The flights will depart Adelaide on Mondays and Thursdays and will utilise the 186 seat B737
Max 8 aircraft, offering passengers premium comfort and amenities with modern interiors,
reduced cabin noise, better lighting and more overhead cabin storage space.
Adelaide Airport Managing Director, Brenton Cox, welcomed the announcement and
congratulated Fiji Airways for its prompt return to Adelaide after such a challenging period for
the aviation sector.
“We know there is significant pent-up demand for South Australians wanting to head
overseas again, and Fiji Airways has recognised the strength of our market,” Mr Cox said.
“Flights will arrive in Adelaide late morning and depart around midday, so it will be a
considerably more family-friendly timeslot and avoids the dreaded overnight flight between
the two cities.
“The flights also offer good connections via Nadi with the airline’s North American schedule,
providing another option for South Australians heading to the US, and indeed US travellers
heading to SA.
“Fiji has always been a hugely popular destination with South Australian travellers and it’s
great to see the reintroduction of routes as the COVID recovery continues.”
Andre Viljoen, Managing Director & CEO, Fiji Airways, said: “We are delighted to resume a
direct service from Adelaide to Nadi for the first time in three years and welcome back our
South Australian guests with our unique Fijian hospitality and award-winning travel ready
programme.
“The vast majority of tourists arriving in Fiji are from Australia and the demand continues to
grow. By resuming this direct flight, a holiday in Fijian paradise is now more accessible to
South Australian residents.”
The service will arrive in Adelaide at 11.20am and depart at 12.35pm, Monday and
Thursday.
Tickets can be purchased through the Fiji Airways website, www.fijiairways.com, or by calling
