SAAJ

South Australian Air Journal
'South Australian Air Journal' was established in 1972 and has been in publication since that date. Its prime purpose is to act as a recorder of aviation history as it happens.

Initially the Magazine was published bi-monthly but it later was converted to quarterly.

There is a large coverage of happenings at Adelaide Airport which details developments in international airlines, domestic airlines, regional airlines, charter operators, visiting military aircraft, biz-jets, general aviation. Parafield Airport has a regular section.

Other sections cover the aircraft registrations of all international flights, SA country airfields, an update on SA aircraft added to the Australian Civil Aircraft Register, airshow reports and each issue a special article pertaining to SA aviation. Two recent issues covered the stories of the Mallala Airshows of the 1950's.

The Editor, Nigel Daw, is a retired banker who has been photographing aircraft since 1965. He has travelled extensively throughout Australia and Asia, North America and Europe on 'airport crawls' and covering civil and military airshows. In 1982 he published the book 'Adelaide Airport - A History of Operations' and extensive records and photographs on that airport.
